LIVES / WORKS IN LONDON, ENGLAND
Schweder is a Cambridge, Princeton, and Pratt-trained architect as well as a Rome Prize Fellow in Architecture who is among a new group of emerging practitioners in which the gallery is invoked no longer as an area of display, but as a testing ground to formulate new paragigms of spatial practice. His work has been internationally exhibited at venues including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Netherlands Architecture Institute, The Kunsthalle Dusseldorf, and the Sculpture Center in Long Island City.
Visitors will also be able to experience his performance architecture at the Tate in London this coming February. Selected works from this show will also be on view at OPUS Projects this spring associated with 'Its Form Will Follow Your Performance'.
Alex Schweder is also Visiting Professor at the Pratt Institute Undergraduate Architecture program.
